Whenever I open up this blog, I realise that while I post about a lot of random stuff, I seem to spend all my time posting about places overseas. And I’ve just come to the realisation that I’m missing out on so many potential post by only blogging about other countries, and other cities. All the while forgetting my wonderful city!
The thing I really like about Brisbane is that it’s spread out, and there’s so much to see and do (and SO many suburbs!) that it feels like a really big place with room to move. But at the same time, on any given night out on the town, I’ll bump into people I know, whether they’re buskers, fellow nightshift workers, patrons from my club, or just old drinking buddies or schoolmates, and it makes Brisbane feel small and cosy. I’m yet to figure out how a city can feel so spacious and so familiar all at once, but it really works for me.
So I’ve decided to embark on an adventure to share a little more of my city with others. I have so many favourite spots and have been trying to expand my knowledge of the city and the best places to go and things to see, and now I want to let others know. If you’re a reader and you know somewhere in Brisbane you think I need to go or something I need to do, then let me know in the comments so I can check it out (and blog about it later!)
