Hey there,
My name is Brittney and I’m from Australia.

I started travelling on the 20th of January, 2012 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with my family.

Since then we’ve travelled across south-east Asia and the United States, seeing a whole bunch of stuff and aiming towards our goal of visiting all 50 states.
However, on June 2nd 2012, I’m going to be back in Brisbane, in an attempt to get some “real life” experience and structure into my system, including getting a job and moving out on my own. I have to budget each month and everything. Like a real adult.
Ew.
So my family will carry on travelling the world, trekking further around the States, and then heading off to Europe to visit the family members we have over there. They should know that I expect postcards!
Most people think I’m crazy for coming home (except for my crazy best friend Bek, who I’ll be living with for a while) and occasionally I even agree with them! I guess only time (and TMI life-blogging) will tell.
Whilst I’ll miss them (maybe) and they’ll miss me (definitely) it’s going to be so interesting to see how different our lives become in the six months before they come home.
And I’ll be blogging every step of the way.

You gave up traveling for getting a job and budgeting and “real life.”
You ARE crazy!!!!
I know – what a strange girl I am!
Maybe if the travel plans the family have now were the travel plans when I left, I would have stayed. But alas, the cool stuff was decided AFTER I left!
A little sneaky planning on my mother’s part perhaps, to assist her budgeting?
First of all, I love your blog.
Second, OMG I love the fact that you’re brave enough to start an ‘adult life’ and ditched traveling.
That’s something I don’t wanna do lol.
Aww thank you! I’m actually on my hiatus from “adult life” right now and am back in Bangkok for a few sweet weeks before I start university next year. Are you travelling at the moment?
Nope, but I am going to Penang, Malaysia on Tuesday for few days – just to refresh my mind up. I’m totally looking forward for it.
Have you been to Penang?
I can’t travel much because I am in university already and I’m starting my internship in Kuala Lumpur this December until the new semester starts!
I sound so lame, ain’t I lol.
Oh that’s awesome! We stayed in Penang in February, in a town called Batu Ferringhi and it was one of my favourite parts of the trip. I didn’t love the whole Georgetown area of Penang though, but this was a little beach town with an outdoor food court and markets every night.
This trip is like my last big travel bid before I start uni in February – not looking forward to being unable to travel though ):
But an internship in Kuala Lumpur sounds waaay cool!
